LNG coalition celebrates one-year anniversary
Our Energy Moment (OEM), the group dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of expanded markets for LNG, has celebrated its one-year anniversary.
"Our coalition has made tremendous progress since we launched more than a year ago, and our mission remains clear: underscore and educate the public on the many economic and strategic benefits created by expanded LNG export markets," said Andrew Ware, a spokesperson for OEM.
"We're proud of what we've accomplished in this short period of time and our voice is stronger than ever. More work needs to be done, and we look forward to continuing to grow our coalition and raise awareness on the many benefits of exporting this abundant resource.
"During the last year, OEM has grown into an organisation of more than 50 members committed to creating jobs, growing our economy and boosting America's security and global competitiveness through expanding markets for LNG exports. LNG exports are expected to generate as much as US$86 billion in net benefits to the US economy and help create up to 2.4 million American jobs by 2035 supported by natural gas."
OEM’s accomplishments in the past year include:
- Celebrated regulatory milestones reached by LNG projects like Freeport LNG, Sabine Pass LNG, Cameron LNG, Jordan Cove, and Cove Point LNG.
- Recruited more than 50 members across the US.
- Launched state chapters of OEM in Louisiana, Texas and Pennsylvania.
- Hosted several roundtable discussions and briefings with prominent federal and local leaders to highlight the national benefits of LNG exports.
