LNG Industry,

According to Reuters, Sempra Energy has delayed the final investment decision (FID) on its Port Arthur LNG project in Texas until 2021.

The delay to the FID is reportedly due to the impact that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is having on global energy demand.

Sempra has also announced that its Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB de CV unit (IEnova) in Mexico is also likely to delay some construction capital to 2021, due to COVID-19. The specific IEnova projects which might see delayed spending have not been named.
