Fortis acquires B.C. gas storage facility, Aitken Creek

Fortis Inc. has announced that it has successfully acquired Aitken Creek Gas Storage ULC from Chevron Canada Properties Ltd. Aitken Creek has a working gas capacity of 77 billion ft3 and is located in the Montney production region. It is the only underground natural gas storage facility in British Columbia (B.C.), Canada.
The President and CEO of Fortis, Barry Perry, said: “This acquisition reflects our continued focus on natural gas investments in British Columbia.
“The Aitken Creek gas storage facility is uniquely positioned to benefit from future development of British Columbia's natural gas resources to serve both domestic markets and LNG exports."
