LNG Industry,

Further patents have been awarded to Gasconsult for the ZR-LNG liquefaction process in South Korea and Australia. Patent protection is already effective in the UK, China, Japan and Mexico. Further patent applications are in hand.

Work is proceeding on the UK Government Innovate funded design work for nominal 1.4 million tpy and 1 million tpy FLNG modules. The bulk of the technical work will be completed around the end of February 2018. Evaluations by recognised process design experts confirm ZR-LNG as an efficient process with power demand equal to or better than SMR configurations and substantially reduced complexity relative to DMR schemes. Depending on location, fabricator capability, or the need for procurement flexibility this can be built either as a single unit or as two separate modules.

Commenting on the developments Bill Howe, Chief Executive of Gasconsult said, "we are very pleased with our progress over the past 6 months. Our Innovate work is providing us substantial detail engineering data which provides support to our marketing efforts. Our work with Osomo on ZR-iLNG has the makings of a highly disruptive technology for small scale liquefaction."
