Jordan Cove Energy Project LP (JCEP) and Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline LP (PCGP) have submitted a request that the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) expeditiously rule on their request for rehearing of FERC’s original order denying the construction of a proposed LNG project in Coos Bay, Oregon, US, as well as an interconnected pipeline.

Back in March 2016, FERC denied the applications due to a lack of market support.

JCEP and PCGP requested a rehearing in April 2016. A joint statement from the companies said: “Rehearing has now been pending for over six months. During this time JCEP and PCGP have made substantial progress advancing the project. However, the delay in the Commission’s substantive ruling has begun to make further progress very difficult.”

The companies also claim that potential customers of the LNG terminal and pipeline have been deterred from negotiating binding agreements due to the uncertainty created by FERC’s original order.
