ClassNK releases latest guidelines for floating offshore facilities

ClassNK has announced that it has released the third edition of its Guidelines for Floating Offshore Facilities for LNG/LPG Production, Storage Offloading and Regasification.
The first edition was published in 2011 and set out the technical requirements for floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.
The second edition was published in February 2015, and clarified the application to floating storage regasification units (FSRUs).
The third edition includes guidelines on enhancing the safe design of floating LNG (FLNG) units. Updates also include requirements of mooring analysis of single-point mooring systems, including turret mooring systems. The latest edition also included updates to requirements for fire extinction, protection, etc.
