Using Valmet’s automation solutions, all measurement data connected to the LNG terminal operations of Skangas – a subsidiary of Gasum – is capable of being collected and controlled centrally. The project was preceded by a successful basic automation engineering phase.
The Chief Information Officer of Gasum Group, Pertti Norjos, said: “The successful basic engineering phase convinced us of Valmet's ability to fulfil our needs for collecting data centrally for our other supporting systems, like the energy management and ERP systems.”
Jani Hautaluoma, Director, Process Automation, Valmet, added: “With Valmet's automation solutions, Gasum and Skangas will be able to improve performance and work in a systematic way as well as provide a high-quality customer experience to their customers. This delivery is a good example of Valmet's Industrial Internet solution that impacts all stages of the customer's process and benefits their whole business.”
Valmet claims that it will supply Gasum with connecting systems, operations management and a centralised database. Simultaneously, the company will provide the basic engineering for Gasum’s biogas plant automation in Finland and Sweden. The aim is to engineer an automation solution with which the company’s biogas plants, too, can be controlled centrally.
