Clean Energy signs LNG deals

Clean Energy has released a statement claiming that it has secured a contract to provide LNG to Hawaii Gas, which is Hawaii’s only franchised gas utility.

Thomas Young, the Executive Vice President and COO of Hawaii Gas, said: “Hawaii Gas has been serving the state for over a hundred years and is committed to providing our customers with quality and reliable gas service.

“With Clean Energy LNG, we will be able to diversify our gas supply using a clean fuel improving our reliability and maintaining the quality of service our customers know us for.”

Clean Energy has also signed further agreements throughout the US. For instance, the company announced that it has extended its LNG supply agreement with Phoenix by two years. The agreement, which is valued at over US$10 million, is for an estimated 5 million gasoline gallon equivalents (GGEs) per year.

Maria Hyatt, the Transit Director, said: “The City of Phoenix recognises what Clean Energy brings to the table.

“We are committed to ensuring we provide a clean, affordable transportation solution to our riders and feel confident Clean Energy will help us meet that goal.”

Clean Energy has also renewed a three-year operations & maintenance contract with Corpus Christi Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA). The contract represents approximately 3 million GGEs over its three-year term.

Clean Energy will also provide up to 500 000 gal. of Redeem^TM Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) fuel to a division of The Kroger Co. – Fred Meyer Stores. The fuel will be used for its fleet of 40 LNG trucks based out the distribution centre in Clackamas, Oregon, US.

Clean Energy has also announced that vehicle fuelling operations have commenced at a new public station in North Platte, Nebraska, US. Vehicles from KALM Transportation, UPS and Schmidt Liquid Transportation will all be serviced at the station. The station will offer both LNG and CNG to vehicles in the Midwest.

Clean Energy also commenced fuelling solutions in West Memphis, Arkansas, at the Pilot Flying J station. The station will support the fleet of LNG trucks belonging to Raven Transportation at an estimated 11 000 GGEs per month.
