ExxonMobil announces Power Play awards highlighting Women in LNG

LNG Industry,

What started as a series of ExxonMobil networking events promoting diversity in the LNG industry, has now grown into an awards program; the Power Play awards.

The program is designed to recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of remarkable women and the men who uphold the importance of supporting and empowering them in the industry.

The key objectives behind the awards are to shine a light on the newcomers and smaller players in the LNG value chain, in particular, encouraging nominations from resource holders, buyers, partners and FSRU providers. All players in the LNG business are invited to submit nominations for these awards, which will open on 8 April.

The three award categories are:

  • The Rising Star – presented to an outstanding female professional under the age of 35.
  • The Vanguard – given to a male or female professional who displays outstanding leadership.
  • The Rainmaker - awarded to a female professional who has delivered exceptional value and business results.

Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination, but all nominees must be employed within the LNG value chain. Award nominations must be submitted by 15 July 2019. A panel of six judges will determine three finalists for each of the award categories. Once finalists are announced, the LNG community will have the opportunity to vote on their chosen candidates. Winners for each category will be determined by a combination of the final judges’ scores and community votes.

Presented by ExxonMobil, the first-ever Power Play Awards will be awarded at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2019 on 18 September 2019.
