LNG-fuelled ferry en route to B.C.

BC Ferries has released a statement claiming that the Salish Orca, which recently departed Gdansk, Poland, and set sail for British Columbia (B.C.), Canada, has now passed the Canary Islands for refuelling and provisioning, and is now travelling across the Atlantic Ocean to Panama.

The LNG-fuelled ferry is the first of BC Ferries’ three Salish Class vessels.

Depending on the weather, the vessel is expected to arrive at Panama in approximately two weeks. Once it reaches its end destination, B.C., it will commence service on the Powell River to Comox route in Spring 2017.

GTT receives order from Hanwha Ocean for seven new LNG carriers

GTT has received an order from the shipyard Hanwha Ocean for the tank design of seven new LNG carriers on behalf of a European shipowner.
