LNG Industry,
Shell has announced that it has opened a new truck LNG-fuelling station in Santa Nella, California, US. This is the second LNG-fuelling station in California and follows the construction of two other stations by Shell in Texas and Louisiana earlier in 2015. Shell now has seven facilities across the North America.
The station is located on the interstate highway in Northern California to capture demand from heavy truck traffic. It will provide fuel for operators out of Los Angeles (Ontario) up along the Highway 5 corridor.
Shell’s Vice President Fuels Sales and Marketing for North America, Elen Phillips, said: “I am excited by the progress we have made in developing the LNG-fuelling network in the US.
“LNG is a viable fuel option for truck owners and more are making the switch to LNG.”
Christian Buelow, Shell’s General Manager Downstream LNG Americas, added: “Shell is committed to developing LNG as a fuel option for marine and road transport, and we continue to look at supply opportunities in the region in balance with demand.
“LNG is a viable fuel option for heavy-duty truck fleet owners, today.”
