Sempra submits FERC pre-filing for Port Arthur LNG North

Sempra has started FERC pre-fling for a brownfield expansion project at Port Arthur LNG North.
The expansion includes four new trains (Train 5, 6, 7, and 8) with a capacity of 27 million tpy; three new LNG storage tanks (storage tanks 3, 4, and 5), and two new marine berths (marine berths 3 and 4).
There will be no new feedgas pipeline as feedgas will be delivered by Sempra’s existing Texas Connector Pipeline.
Following pre-filing in August 2026, the formal FERC application is expected in July 2027, with environment review in March 2028 and the FERC permit decision in July 2028. If approved, construction is expected to start in 2H29, with commercial operating date for Train 5 in 2H34, 1H35 for Train 6, 2H35 for Train 7, and Train 8 in 1H36.
