Eagle LNG achieves major milestone

Eagle LNG Partners has submitted its draft Resource Report 13 for the planned 1 million tpy Jacksonville Project in Florida, US, to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) – part of the FERC pre-filing process. All 13 of the resource reports have now been submitted, meaning that Eagle has moved a step closer to submitting its formal application with FERC. Under this application, FERC will be able to authorise both the siting and construction of onshore and near shore LNG import or export facilities under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act. Eagle LNG claims that it expects to file its formal application with FERC before the end of 2016.

Eagle LNG described the submittal as a ‘major milestone’, with Dick Brown, the CEO of company, stating: “This submission demonstrates our commitment to and the viability of this project and significantly advances our position in the FERC process.

“We are pleased that the project continues to gain momentum while simultaneously receiving tremendous support from the City of Jacksonville and North Florida region. We continue to work with interested clients and stakeholders to move toward start-up and commissioning in 2019.”

CH-IV International – a subsidiary of Clough – has been engaged by Eagle LNG to act as Owner’s Engineer, in order to help prepare the draft resource report.

FERC, as well as other relevant government agencies, will continue reviewing the draft reports and provide feedback to Eagle LNG. Once all 13 Resource Reports have been reviewed by FERC, and Eagle LNG has addressed any concerns raised by FERC, Eagle LNG expects that FERC will grant filing status in 2017.
