Russia and China discuss gas supply

Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Alexey Miller, recently met with First Vice Premier of China’s State Council, Zhang Gaoli, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), Wang Yilin, to discuss bilateral cooperation between Russia and China.
The meeting in Beijing, China, primarily discussed the preparations for the contract on Russian natural gas supply to China via the western route. A statement on Gazprom’s website said that the parties are aiming for the successful conclusion of negotiations, which were progressing steadily.
The following areas of cooperation were also considered: underground gas storage, power generation, machine-building projects for the oil and gas industry, and cooperation in third countries.
