FERC to prepare EIS for Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice of its intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal, to be located on the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
The FERC is accepting comments from the public and interested parties on the project until 19 February 2015.
Venture Global plans to construct and operate an LNG export facility in Louisiana, adjacent to the Calcasieu Ship Channel. The facility would receive natural gas from sources in North America, and would liquefy and store it for export.
At full capacity, the project will be able to process approximately 487.2 billion ft3/yr of LNG.
