Wood Group has released a statement claiming that it has acquired Kelchner Inc. – a US-based, privately owned energy field services and construction provider.
Kelchner will work within Wood Group PSN Americas’ onshore business, and will provide construction largely to the midstream and upstream oil and gas sector in both the Marcellus and Utica shale basins. It will also provide services in broader industrial sectors.
The CEO of Wood Group PSN, Dave Stewart, said: “The acquisition of Kelchner adds to Wood Group’s geographical footprint in the major US shale regions, extending our presence to Marcellus and Utica, where we will leverage Kelchner’s 65 years of expertise to enhance our client service provision.
“Kelchner’s construction and energy services strongly complement Wood Group’s engineering capabilities, positioning both companies well for continued success in the region.”
The CEO of Kelchner, Todd Kelchner, added: “Our company is driven by a passion for continuous improvement and innovative methods. Our mission, values, dedicated people and strategic diversification across energy, industrial and general construction markets greatly contributed to our past successes. Joining Wood Group PSN, a company that shares our values and culture, positions us for future success as we continue to strive to exceed our clients’ expectations.”
