Reuters are reporting that Peru’s sole LNG plant, Pampa Melchorita, will suspend operations for three weeks starting 27 July for a routine maintenance operation, the consortium that operates the plant, Peru LNG, said on 19 June.
No LNG will be produced or exported during the maintenance, which occurs every three years, said David Lemor, Peru LNG’s director of corporate affairs and communications.
US-based Hunt Oil has a 40% stake in Peru LNG, with Royal Dutch Shell Plc, SK Innovation Co Ltd and Japan’s Marubeni Corp holding smaller stakes.
Las Malvinas, a natural gas processing plant in southeastern Peru that feeds Pampa Melchorita, will also close for maintenance at around the same time, the company that operates Las Malvinas has said.
