LNG Industry,

The Center for LNG (CLNG) has appointed Charlie Riedl as its new Executive Director.

CLNG said that Mr Riedl will lead the trade association in its advocacy and public education initiatives that enhance greater understanding of LNG, while also encouraging public policies that recognise and support LNG’s contribution toward economic growth in the US.

Meanwhile, the Boards of CLNG and the Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA) have also approved and implemented a merger between the two organisations. Mr Riedl will serve as a Senior Vice President of the NGSA.

CLNG Chairman, Richard Lammons (who is also Manager, Commercial Support and Strategy for Chevron Supply and Trading) said: “Joining the two associations exponentially increases the effectiveness of both organisations and gives CLNG an even stronger platform for its advocacy and education efforts.  The associations have complementary missions and goals, with each organisation promoting well-functioning markets and the economic benefits of LNG.  We believe Charlie will do a great job leading CLNG’s efforts.”

Dena E. Wiggins, President and CEO of NGSA added: “Charlie comes with a wealth of experience within the industry and understands the challenges and opportunities associated with developing new natural gas markets.  We’re delighted that he’ll be leading the effort to educate and develop policies promoting LNG.”
