Santos GLNG has announced that it recently completed loading the 25th cargo of LNG from its export terminal, which commenced production last year.
The milestone cargo was loaded onto the YK Sovereign LNG carrier, which is 274 m long and weighs 72 020 t. Santos GLNG confirmed that the South Korean flagged vessel is the first Moss-type LNG carrier to travel through the Port of Gladstone since the commencement of the LNG export industry in December 2014.
In February 2016, Santos GLNG announced that 1 million t of LNG had been produced at the LNG export terminal since it commenced production.
The first shipment of LNG left the US$18.5 billion LNG project in October 2015. The first cargo was carried by the Malaysian-owned LNG ship Seri Bakti and was delivered to South Korea.
