Alinta Energy reaches purchase agreement with Chevron

Alinta Energy has announced that it has agreed to purchase 20 PJ/yr of gas from Chevron. The gas will be supplied from Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG project for seven years, commencing in 2020.
Jeff Dimery, the CEO of Alinta Energy, said: “The signing of this agreement provides long-term certainty for Alinta’s gas portfolio and a firm foundation for Alinta’s future gas supply to the West Australian market.”
“Securing this agreement demonstrates Alinta’s ongoing commitment to our West Australian customers, and will enable continuation of Alinta’s award winning excellence in customer service and competitive product offerings into the future.”
The Wheatstone LNG project will include two LNG trains, which will have a combined capacity of 8.9 million tpy, as well as a domestic gas plant.
