Fortis BC awaits TFN member vote

Fortis BC has issued a short statement in response to the recent announcement that the Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) has initiated a consultation with its members regarding a proposed concept for an LNG export facility on its lands. FortisBC LNG Development Inc. is part of the joint venture that has developed the concept.
Fortis BC said that it values the opportunity to explore the concept with TFN. The statement read: “If the concept proceeds, the Nation will be involved in all stages of development as we work with regulatory and permitting agencies to ensure the facility adheres to the highest environmental values and safety standards.”
FortisBC concluded that it is looking forward to receiving the results of the member vote, which is due to be held on 16 December 2015.
