UGI Energy Services LLC (a subsidiary of UGI Corp.) has awarded a contract to Cosmodyne LLC (a subsidiary of Cryogenic Industries) for a new LINEX natural gas liquefaction plant for its Northeast Pennsylvanian facility. This will produce 120 000 gal./d of LNG, and includes the technology required for the production and treatment of LNG, the gas turbine driver, and the cooling systems. Not only will the LINEX plant be flexible enough to respond to specific market requirements, but it will also use an environmentally friendly nitrogen refrigeration process. The plant is expected to be completed and in use by 2017.

Mike Mara, the Vice President of Engineering and Operations, stated: “Cosmodyne was selected because of its dedicated support to our project and experience in providing liquefaction solutions into a variety of different markets. UGI had some special requirements and preferences on certain aspects of the design and we found Cosmodyne to be very amenable to accommodate us in our needs.”

George Pappagelis, the General Manager of Cosmodyne, added: “We are very proud to have been chosen by UGI for this important project. We continue to build on our extensive experience in the natural gas industry by working closely with our clients in providing safe, reliable and efficient liquefaction solutions […]. Our history of partnering with our clients to provide unique solutions that satisfies the needs of their shareholders and markets is a reason that many of our customers become repeat clients.”
