Woodfibre moving forward with BC LNG export terminal

According to Reuters, Woodfibre has announced its plans to proceed with the construction of its proposed LNG export terminal, located in British Columbia.
The terminal will reportedly cost an estimated C$1.4 – 1.8 billion, and export operations are expected to commence by 2023. A final investment decision (FID) is being targeted this summer.
There are currently 18 LNG export projects being developed in Canada. Woodfibre’s 2023 start date has the potential to make its facility the first LNG export terminal in Canada, ahead of Shell’s LNG Canada project which is due to commence operations in 2024.
