LNG Industry,
Laing O’Rourke has released a statement claiming that it has secured a third major work package on the Ichthys LNG project onshore LNG facilities. Under the terms of the $200 million package, Laing O’Rourke will deliver the miscellaneous civil finishing works at Bladin Point, Australia.
Stuart Crofts, the company’s Region Director, said: “This is the third major package we have secured on this Project. In 2012, Laing O’Rourke was awarded the EPC contract to deliver a network of four massive cryogenic tanks (in consortium with Kawasaki Heavy Industries) and the $260 million contract to deliver the 3500 bed Manigurr-ma Village in Howard Springs.
“The logistically challenging project will see the project delivery team working in and around a number of other contractors completing major work packages on the site, including Kawasaki Heavy Industries – Laing O’Rourke’s own Cryogenic Tanks team.
“Laing O’Rourke’s demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with a large number of stakeholders and our commitment to the use of digital engineering and innovative solutions to manage complex interfaces and deliver to the client’s programme was instrumental in our success.”
