LNG Industry,
Alongside Technip, HiLoad LNG AS presented a new LNG offloading solution at the OTC conference in Houston, Texas, US. The HiLoad LNG Parallel Loading System (PLS) utilises the HiLoad LNG unit for station keeping and Technip’s cryogenic flexible aerial pipes to transfer LNG from a floating LNG (FLNG) unit to an LNG carrier. HiLoad LNG AS is a subsidiary of Sevan Marine ASA.
The combination of HiLoad and Technip’s technology was simulated at MARIN’s facilities in the Netherlands in 2015. This simulation successfully demonstrated the system’s ability to maintain a separation distance of 100 m or more between the vessels in rough environmental conditions, using the minimum length of LNG transfer lines necessary.
The system is capable of being used with other transfer solutions too, including floating cryogenic hoses.
