Black & Veatch appoints new member to the Board of Directors

Black & Veatch has released a statement claiming that Ed Walsh – the President of the company’s power business – has been appointed to the Board of Directors.
The Chairman and CEO of the company, Steve Edwards, said: “Ed has deep involvement in our key global markets, fast growing business segments and outstanding leadership ability.
“He has led successful power projects across the world and helped clients meet power needs in rapidly changing business and regulatory environments. In addition, Ed has decades of experience in the global engineering and construction industry."
Walsh joined Black & Veatch in 2003, and previously served as Executive Vice President and Executive Director of Global Services Projects. He has taken the lead in several successful power projects in regions such as North America, South Africa, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as India, Indonesia, China and Thailand.
Walsh said: “Working together with other Directors to collectively apply the diverse experience that exists on the Board allows us to continue enhancing our understanding of the opportunities our clients have to reach their goals.
“As a result of the strengths and experiences we possess, we are positioned to continue bringing solutions to help clients achieve their business strategies while further strengthening Black & Veatch in the markets we serve.”
Edwards said: “With the continued expansion into new markets and regions, Ed is an excellent addition to the Board and brings his insights and creative capabilities to deliver results for our clients most challenging projects.
“His experience and expertise also will help the Board continue to shape Black & Veatch’s future growth across all our business lines.”
In the statement, Black & Veatch claimed that it plans to continue expansion into India, the GCC countries, Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
