LNG Industry,

As Texas LNG prepares to make a formal application to site, construct and operate an LNG export facility in Texas, US, it has announced that it has now submitted all 13 of the draft resource reports to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The proposed plant will have a capacity of 4 million tpy of LNG.

The submission of these documents is a significant milestone in terms of Texas LNG’s plan to commence the plant’s construction in the first half of 2017. The draft resource reports cover various aspects of the proposed plant, including:

  • Resource report 1 – General project description.
  • Resource report 2 – Water use and quality.
  • Resource report 3 – Fish, wildlife, and vegetation.
  • Resource report 4 – Cultural resources.
  • Resource report 5 – Socioeconomics.
  • Resource report 6 – Geological resources.
  • Resource report 7 – Soils.
  • Resource report 8 – Land use, recreation and aesthetics.
  • Resource report 9 – Air and noise quality.
  • Resource report 10 – Alternatives.
  • Resource report 11 – Reliability and safety.
  • Resource report 12 – PCB contamination.
  • Resource report 13 – Engineering and design material.

In addition to this, Texas LNG has announced that it has entered a master framework alliance agreement with Honeywell, which will provide state-of-the-art technology solutions in the gas pre-treatment, automation and controls sections. In particular, Texas LNG will use Honeywell’s UOP’s Amine GuardTM FS process, which will reduce the level of acid gas and its proprietary adsorbents to remove sulfur, water, and mercury from the natural gas.

Texas LNG claims that it remains on schedule to deliver its first LNG in 2020.
