Cryogenic pipe supports plant opens in US

LNG Industry,

A new facility to manufacture cryogenic pipe supports for the LNG and oil and gas industries has been built in Waggaman, Louisiana by global pipe support specialists Bergen Pipe Supports.

The new factory will manufacture HD PUF pipe supports to support pipework operating at temperatures lower than -160ºC in environments ranging from a desert in the Middle East, or a tropical coastal region in Asia, to a plant located on a Siberian Island, transferring the forces, moments and movements of the plant into and through the supporting structure while keeping the cold of the pipe shielded from the external environment.

Global reach

The company also has HD PUF plants in Asia, which, combined with the new US plant, enables it to offer a fast and cost-effective service right across the world.

With a production capacity of over 10 t of HD PUF per week (around 250 finished supports) the new Louisiana plant provides additional capacity close to the Group's US activities and within much quicker shipping times to countries accross the world where speed of supply is of the essence.

The new facility is located in the company's 75 000 sq ft plant which is also the headquarters of the Group's Carpenter & Paterson Inc. activities.
