Japan's Inpex sticks to Australia Ichthys LNG output target

Reuters are reporting that Japan's Inpex Corporation is keeping with its plans to start up its Australian Ichthys LNG export plant in July-September 2017, despite trouble over the completion of a power station.

The Ichthys project was dealt a blow in January 2017 as engineering firm CIMIC announced it was pulling out of building the plant’s power station. That led many to expect production delays.

"The contractor is saying the construction will be finished as scheduled," commented Masahiro Murayama, Inpex senior managing executive officer.

"I'm not worried that this would cause a big change on the overall schedule," he said.
