G2 LNG notifies FERC of LNG project

G2 LNG LLC has filed a letter to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to introduce its G2 LNG Calcasieu River LNG Project.

G2 LNG proposes to site, construct, own and operate a 14 million tpy LNG liquefaction facility on the west bank of the Calcasieu River.

The proposed LNG project site covers an area of 766 acres and G2 LNG has secured all of the rights necessary to fully develop and operate the project.

G2 LNG also confirmed that it will shortly request approval from FERC to initiate the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) pre-filing review of the LNG project.

G2 LNG said that it intends to pursue the associated authorisations concurrent with the Commission process and expects to submit all applications for federal authorisations to the relevant agencies no later than the date when it files its FERC application in July 2016.

G2 LNG added that it intends to commence construction of the two-train LNG project in 4Q17, and place the LNG project in service in 2020.
