FERC welcomes public input on proposed Delfin LNG project

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice requesting environment-related comments on the proposed Delfin LNG project in the Gulf of Mexico, US. The FERC is supporting the US Coast Guard in its preparation of the environmental impact statement (EIS) on the project.

The proposed project would include both the construction and operation of an offshore LNG deepwater port, as well as the related pipelines. This would include approximately 1.1 miles of onshore pipelines and land-based facilities under the commission’s jurisdiction.

On 19 November 2015, Delfin LNG modified its FERC application regarding the land-based facilities. Therefore, the FERC is officially opening a scoping period to gain public input on the proposed onshore pipeline and associated facilities in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The scoping period will officially close on 28 January 2016.
