LNG Industry,

US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Staff have released a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Jordan Cove LNG project proposed by Jordan Cove Energy Project LP and the interconnected Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline Project proposed by Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline L.P.

Jordan Cove requests authorisation to liquefy up to 1.04 billion ft3/day of natural gas per day at a proposed terminal in Coos Bay, Oregon, for export for to overseas markets. Pacific Connector proposes to construct and operate a pipeline to provide natural gas for the terminal.

In the draft EIS, FERC Staff concluded that “approval of the project would result in a number of significant environmental impacts; however, the majority of impacts would be less than significant because of the impact avoidance, minimisation, and mitigation measures proposed by Jordan Cove and Pacific Connector and those recommended by staff in the draft EIS.”
