LNG Industry,

The Canadian National Energy Board (NEB) has granted Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. approval to export up to 20 million tpy of LNG from its Discovery LNG site.

The Discovery LNG site is located near Campbell River, British Columbia (B.C.), Canada, for a period of 25 years.

Quicksilver is proposing to construct a facility that would convert produced natural gas primarily from B.C. into LNG for export to Pacific Rim markets in Asia. Discovery LNG is expected to provide the facilities for liquefying natural gas, LNG storage and carrier on-loading facilities and would be operated by a downstream partnership between Quicksilver and a third party (to be finalised).
