FERC dismisses Strom LNG petition
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has dismissed Strom Inc.’s petition for declaratory order (PDO), which requested that its mobile liquefaction unit be eligible to export LNG with exemption from FERC’s jurisdiction under the Natural Gas Act.
Strom, based in Florida, was hoping to be granted the permit on the basis that it was employing a mobile conversion unit (supplied by General Electric and termed 'LNG in a box') as opposed to constructing a terminal.
The PDO was not accepted due to the fact that Strom failed to submit its filing fee, the FERC said.
