Consortium reaches deal to build FLNG unit

According to Reuters, a consortium that includes JGC has reached a deal valued at 700 billion yen to construct a floating LNG (FLNG) platform off of the coast of Mozambique.

Reuters claims that developers of the project include Korea Gas, China National Petroleum and Eni. JGC will reportedly be responsible for an approximately 150 billion yen portion of the contract.

Reuters reports that JGC will handle the planning, material procurement and LNG plant construction alongside Samsung Heavy Industries and TechnipFMC.
