US patent granted for LNG Ltd technology
Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd (LNG Ltd) has been granted a patent in the US for its OSMR® process technology.
The company now has patents in Canada and the US to protect its OSMR process, which is ‘a method and system for production of liquefied natural gas’.
Maurice Brand, Managing Director and CEO, commented: “We are very pleased that the company’s primary invention is protected in the US and Canada to support the projects in those countries. What’s more, the US patent has been extended by 645 days to account for the time the patent has been prosecuted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.”
Patent protection will allow the company to develop other opportunities in addition to progressing its Magnolia, Bear Head and Gladstone Fisherman’s Landing LNG projects.
The OSMR process is based on a single mixed refrigerant system with the addition of conventional combined heat and power and ammonia refrigeration technology.
