Golar LNG Partners LP has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Golar Tundra floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) from Golar LNG Ltd. The acquisition cost a total of a US$330 million.
Before the partnership completed the acquisition of the vessel, it also completed and drew down upon a new, five year, US$800 million senior secured credit facility. This consists of both a US$650 million term loan facility, and a US$150 million revolving credit facility. Together, they refinanced the existing credit facilities that were secured by seven of the partnership’s existing fleet’s vessels, and also supplied a portion of the funding for the Golar Tundra acquisition.
