According to Reuters, LNG Croatia has selected Golar Power to provide a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for its EU-backed LNG terminal in the northern Adriatic Sea.

LNG Croatia has stated that Golar outbid Mitsui O.S.K Lines and Maran Gas Maritime Inc. to secure this contact.

Part of Golar’s successful bid included an offer to convert the project’s current LNG carrier to an FSRU for €159.6 million (US$180.8 million). The vessel in question will have the capacity to store 140 000 m3 of LNG, regasify up to 300 000 m3 of gas per hour, and an annual gas capacity of 2.6 billion m3.
