LNG Industry,

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has expressed concerns about the viability of the CE FLNG LLC project.

In a recent letter to the company, FERC said that the changeability of CE FLNG’s schedule and a lack of a full set of draft resource reports had led to the concerns arising. CE FLNG had originally planned to file an application for its project with FERC in May 2015, but the company subsequently indicated that it was pursuing additional and funding and would begin updating field work in April, then May, and then June 2015.

The letter stated that FERC’s participation in the pre-filing process will be suspended, should CE FLNG be unable to  provide draft resource reports in support of the project by 1 August 2015. The letter continued: “If this occurs, CE FLNG would need to begin the pre-filing process anew once it is prepared to move forward with the project.”
