Chart to provide LNG stations for buses in Poland

LNG Industry,

Chart Industries has announced that its subsidiary, Chart Ferox, has been awarded two contracts by Gazprom Germania to provide LNG fuelling stations for LNG city buses in Poland produced by the local bus manufacturer Solbus.

Chart Ferox is responsible for the complete station design and manufacture, and will assist with the installation and commissioning of the stations.

LNG stations

The first LNG vehicle fuelling station, to be located in the city of Olsztyn, will use a skid-based design facilitating quick and easy installation with minimal civil works. The station will still provide all the typical permanent fuelling station features including a sophisticated control system with remote access and diagnostics.

The second, permanent LNG vehicle fuelling station will be located in Warsaw, and will be the first station in Europe dedicated to providing LNG as fuel for city buses, incorporating three LNG dispensers provided by Flow Instruments, a Chart company.

Both stations are fully automatic and represent a major milestone in the development of the LNG vehicle fuelling infrastructure in Europe.

Comments

Hans Lonsain, CEO of Chart Ferox, commented: ”We are very happy Gazprom Germania selected us for these projects. This investment strengthens the growing LNG infrastructure in Poland and will boost the use of natural gas as a vehicle fuel providing a safe, clean-burning and economical alternative to diesel.”

“Natural gas is becoming increasingly important as a fuel for motor vehicles. With this deal, we are strengthening our commitment to the use of natural gas as an environmentally-friendly motor fuel”, added Vyacheslav Krupenkov, Senior Managing Director of Gazprom Germania.
