Adriatic LNG to offer peak shaving service

Adriatic LNG – the operator of a regasification terminal located off the Veneto coastline in the northern Adriatic Sea - has announced a tender for next winter’s peak shaving service to supply one cargo of LNG between 60 000 and 70 000 m3.
The tender will close on 14 November 2016 and the gas has to be unloaded in the second half of December 2016.
Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development selected the Adriatic LNG terminal for peak shaving services as part of its ‘Emergency Plan’ to guarantee the security of the national gas system in 2016 – 2017. Stored gas will be made available in 1Q17 in order to meet possible peaks in demand during the winter months.
