Petronet LNG reports reduced volumes and profits

Petronet LNG Ltd has published its 1Q20/21 financial results.
Highlights:
- During the quarter ended 30 June 2020, Petronet LNG’s Dahej terminal processed 181 trillion Btu of LNG, compared to 206 trillion Btu processed during the previous quarter and 217 trillion Btu processed during the corresponding quarter of last year.
- The overall LNG volume processed by Petronet LNG in 1Q20/21 was 190 trillion Btu, compared to the 219 trillion Btu and 226 trillion Btu volumes of LNG processed in the previous and corresponding quarter of last year respectively.
- The company reported its net profit after tax for 1Q20/21 as 5.2 billion rupees (US$69.5 million), compared to 5.6 billion rupees in the corresponding quarter last year.

Petronet LNG has credited its “strong financial results” in 1Q20/21, achieved in spite of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the economy and the oil and gas industry, to its robust operational efficiency and effective commercial planning.
