Tokyo Gas reports increased gas sales

Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd has reported a 4.2% rise in gas sales volume to 1654.677 million m3 in January 2015, compared to the corresponding period of last year.
Volume in the residential sector grew 1.2% to 511.788 million m3, due to an increased number of customers, while the volume in the business sector remained roughly equal to the January 2014 period.
Tokyo Gas noted a 9.8% increase to 632.467 million m3 of gas in the industrial sector. This growth was attributed to increased demand for power generation.
Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totalled 224.221 million m3, which was a 1.8% increase from January 2014.
