Adani Group and GSPC to construct LNG import terminal
According to the Press Trust of India, Adani Group and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) will construct an LNG import terminal at Mundra, in the Indian state of Gujarat.
The terminal will be completed by December 2016, the local newspaper added.
On 24 July, GSPC subsidiary, GSPC LNG Limited, was granted approval to become co-developer of the Adani Port special economic zone (SEZ) at Mundra, Press Trust of India reports.
India’s commerce ministry reportedly approved GSPC LNG’s proposal for a 5 million tpa LNG import terminal, comprising storage and regasification facilities.
An official told the newspaper that the LNG import terminal has already received environmental approval, and will now proceed to finalise a joint venture partner for the project.
India Gas Solutions Pvt Ltd, ONGC and Indian Oil Corp. have all been shortlisted to take a 25% stake in the project, reports The Economic Times of India.
