Wärtsilä receives engine orders from South Korea

Wärtsilä has announced that it has received orders for 56 Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel auxiliary engines in the first half of 2015. The engines will be used in 14 new LNG carriers being built for four different owners.

With these contracts, Wärtsilä has received orders for nearly 100 such engines from the three major South Korean shipyards, since it was re-launched with a higher maximum continuous rating (MCR) in 2013.  The LNG carriers are being built for European, US, and Asian owners.
