China orders five LNG-powered containerships

Reuters reports that the €1.2 billion contract was signed during a state visit to France by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Under the terms of the deal, each containership will have a capacity to handle 15 000 TEUs. They will reportedly be delivered from 2021 onwards, and will be used to service the lines between Asia and the Mediterranean.
