LNG Industry,
GTT has obtained Approval in Principle (AiP) for its Mark III Flex containment system evolution for ice breaking LNG carriers from the classification society Bureau Veritas.
The containment system offers a daily boil-off rate of 0.085% of tank volume.
The formal AiP was delivered during a ceremony at the Bureau Veritas exhibition stand during Gastech 2019 in Houston.
The approval was based on vibration and acceleration tests performed to simulate the behaviour of the containment system when an LNG carrier is involved in ice-breaking operations.
GTT is pleased to have been granted this approval by Bureau Veritas, and proud to have demonstrated the reliability of its technologies in Arctic conditions.
