GTT receives notification for LNG carriers
GTT has received notification from Hudong-Zhonghua for four LNG carriers ordered by Teekay, CNOOC, China LNG Shipping and BW.
The new ships will be jointly owned by Teekay LNG Partners, China National Offshire Oil Corporation (CNOOC), China LNG Shipping and BW.
The first vessel is expected to be delivered in 2017 and the three others within the two following years. They will be built with the proven NO 96 technology, which benefits from over years of successful experience at sea.
These four new orders highlight the importance of the partnership between Hudong-Zhonghua and GTT, bringing the total number of LNG carriers ordered to 20, six of which are in currently in service.
Commenting on this latest order, Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT said: “We are pleased to further strengthen our relations with our Chinese partners while noting that our technologies are once more recognized by the LNG shipping operators.”
