LNG carrier rescues fishermen
An LNG carrier operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has rescued drifting fishermen offshore Indonesia.
The MOL liquefied natural gas carrier, Senshu Maru, found drifting castaways in the Celebes Sea off Indonesia, and was able to rescue three Indonesian fishermen.
Action plan
At 14:15 (Japan time) on October 6, the Senshu Maru, sailing from the port of Bontang, Indonesia, to the port of Sakai-Senboku in Osaka, Japan, found drifting fishermen, and immediately began rescue operations. The fishermen’s boat has sunk after being hit by a wave.
At 15:04 of the same day, three drifting fishermen were rescued.
At 12:00 on October 7, the members were turned over to the Indonesian Rescue Coordination Center.
