OEM commends Senate hearing on LNG legislation
Our Energy Moment (OEM) has commended the Senate hearing on a bill to expedite LNG exports from the US.
The group released the following statement, after the US Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee held a hearing on the LNG Permitting Certainty and Transparency Act (S. 33). The bill would impose a 45-day deadline on the US Department of Energy (DOE) to issue a final decision on applications following the conclusion of required federal environmental review of proposed LNG facilities.
Andrew Ware, a spokesman for the organisation, said: "OEM commends the US Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for holding this important hearing on how expediting LNG exports can help grow our economy and create American jobs.
"S.33 represents a growing commitment from Congressional leaders to expand domestic LNG exports so that we can boost our global competitiveness and strengthen our energy security. We thank Senate leadership on both sides of the aisle for their hard work on this important issue and urge the full Senate to pass the legislation without delay."
